Website Content Manager
Here's how it works:
First, we will help you point your domain name (example: yourwebsite.com) to our server. If you don't have a domain name, we will help you set one up. Once that's done you can start adding content to your HMT-Powered Website, although most of the content (your events & event media) will load automatically! To use our content management system (CMS) just log in to your HoldMyTicket account. Navigate to the Tools tab, then click on Content Manager.
There are three sections of the CMS: Pages, Navigation, and Blogs. You'll use the Pages section to manage your website pages. You'll use Navigation to build links to your pages that appear in a navigation (menu) bar at the top of your main page. The Blogs section will allow you to instantly create blog entries that collect in a widget to the right of your main page.
CMS - Pages
The first section of the CMS is the Pages screen. From here you can Add Pages, Edit them or Remove them.
Each page supports search engine friendly titles and meta tags. You can edit your pages with a visual editor, as well as in HTML. Work on the page in DRAFT mode and when you want it to appear on your site just change it to PUBLISHED.
Give the page a relevant title. For example: "Contact," "About Us," or "Events." The URL key will automatically fill in based on your title, but you can change it up if you want. The URL key what is added to the end of your website URL while that page is open. For example, if you make your contact page's URL key "contact" and your website is myholdmyticketwebsite.com, the direct link to your contact page will become, myholdmyticketwebsite.com/contact
CMS - Navigation
The second section of the CMS is the Navigation screen. This is where you link the pages you created in the previous section to the navigation menu at the top of your website.
Here you can set up a very simple navigation menu with direct links to pages and outside URLS only. Or, you can build drop-down menus within the navigation bar. Once you've created some navigation items, you can reorder them in the main navigation list by clicking the arrows next to them and dragging and dropping.
Click the Create button to begin adding Navigation items.
Under Parent: choose "Top Level" if you want this item to be the top option of the navigation bar. If you instead want it to be a sub-item under another navigation item you have already set up, choose that other main navigation item here.
Under Type: Select PAGE to link the navigation item it to a page you've et up, or URL to point to an external url.
Under Page / URL: This field will change based on which option you chose in the previous step. Either select the Page you want this navigation item to link to, or enter a URL.
Under Target: Select whether you want a new window to open upon clicking this navigation item, or if you want the site visitor to stay on the same page. (Pro tip: New Window is a great option if this item is an external URL link. You want to keep site visitors engaged with your website, so if you sent them elsewhere, this way you can make sure that a window with your website stays open).
CMS - Blog Posts
You can also create blog posts for your site using the CMS. Click on the Blogs tab, click Create, and type away using the text field (or HTML editor). The date and time will be stored automatically, and you can edit or delete blog posts at any time.
Just as with your pages (described above), you can save the blog posts as a Draft or Published post. Give your post a title and URL Key (explained in the Pages section).
Upload a main image for the post and enter a Short-Body description. These pieces of content are both used in the preview of the blog section of your site. Use the main Body field to put the bulk of your content, and format the text and add more images at your will.
